We need to overhaul our personal privacy protections in this country. Personally Identifying Information (PII) should be more difficult to obtain, retain and sell.
data collection should be an opt-in system with a max permission time of 60 days
after which the data should have to be deleted, new consent obtained and the data recollected
non-medical data should have an experation date of 60 days
That expiration date should persist even if the data is sold to or by a data broker
There should be a heavy financial penalty for violating such law(s)

Make insider trading illegal for government officials and make prosecution thereof mandatory for Congress and introduce a mechanism to punish all members who partake collectively
Overturn Trump V. United States 603 U.S. 593 (2024)
Redefine monetary crime punishments to be a portion of the culprit’s last reported income
Preliminary example:
Speeding tickets on federal roadways cost 0.1% of the offender’s AGI from last year per 5 mph over the limit

Make prosecution of corruption possible and compulsory

As United States citizens and consumers we deserve the right to own the things we buy. I will introduce and/or support legislation that protects our right to repair, maintain and modify the products that we have purchased. especially in the areas of automotive, industrial equipment, and home appliances.

General
Remove cap on social security contributions by individuals making more than $184,500.
Corporate
Remove a corporation’s fiduciary duty to its shareholders.
For corporations that employ over 1,000 individuals: For each individual who reports at least 1,877 hours throughout a calendar year (average of 36 hours/week) and receives SNAP benefits, their employer(s) should be charged a surtax of 0.625x the benefits paid by the SNAP program.
For multi income families this surtax will be divided proportionally to the income contributed by each individual.
If one partner’s employer pays a higher hourly rate they would be responsible for less of the surtax.
For individuals employed by multiple employers the surtax will be divided proportionally between employers based on income paid.
The lower the pay/hour the higher the portion of the surtax each employer pays.
Personal/family
Bracket reform-lower taxes for working class and higher taxes for billionaires and multi millionaires
mandatory paid family leave for both parents
mandatory minimum PTO/year
Jury duty should pay enough allow everyone to participate

Lev 19:33-34
"I had always hoped that this land might become a safe & agreeable Asylum to the virtuous & persecuted part of mankind, to whatever nation they might belong"
—George Washington May 28, 1788
I am a descendant of immigrants, as are the vast majority of US citizens in our district. It is shameful that we consider it too much to extend to others the same opportunity our forebearers had.
We need to be increasing the number of immigration judges to alleviate the backlog of the immigration docket.
We need to extend the 6th amendment right to legal council to include those who attempt to immigrate via legal channels. This includes asylum seekers.
Those in government who attempt to break international law with regards to asylum seekers should be impeached.
We are a nation of immigrants and a melting pot of cultures. It’s time we remember that fact and start being proud of it again.
